Flangiflon is an expanded PTFE gasket produced with uniaxial extrusion. This orientation gives the structure of the PTFE fibers excellent stability longitudinally during extrusion. When compressing Flangiflon, a change in thickness is obtained and also a diffusion of the product which guarantees an excellent seal. The Flangiflon is supplied with double-sided adhesive tape to facilitate positioning on the sealing surfaces and subsequent assembly.
Flangiflon is produced in different sections, thicknesses and lengths and wound on reels. The assembly of the Flangiflon begins with the right choice of the section to be used. You must then clean the sealing surface and remove the protective paper from the double-sided tape. You will then have to overlap the two ends of the Flangiflon and cut them approximately 2 cm from the joint. The sealing surfaces will then be closed by tightening the bolts or screws symmetrically. Even in the presence of severe damage to the sealing surface, an airtight seal can be guaranteed by applying an additional layer on the damaged/damaged one or on the bumpy area. To avoid deterioration of the flanges (as can happen to thin flanges) a "snake" application of the tape is recommended. This method of application is also recommended for fragile flanges, such as those made of glass, ceramic or plastic.
Flangiflon finds universal use such as:
