Characteristics
• All instrument nipples are designed in accordance with ASME B31.3 for instruments and processes.
• The male thread is protected with a cap.
• Internal and external surfaces without burrs.
• NPT threads are based on the requirements of ASME B1.20.1

¦ Pressure values
• Pressure ratings are for temperatures up to 100°F (37.8°C).
• Based on Pressure Pipe Code ASME B31.3 pressure rating is calculated with an allowable stress rating of 20,000psi for SS316, 10,000psi for brass, 20,000psi for mild steel.
• To determine working pressure in accordance with ASME B31.1 pipe code, multiply psi by 0.94. Brass pressure ratings remain the same.
• Due to the larger outside diameter of the female thread, the rating of the female is lower than the male threads.
• To determine kPa rating, multiply psi by 6.89.
• The pressure reducing rating of the hexagonal bushing (P-SHB) is not covered in this table. See pressure rating in dimensional data graph.
